Jacques Dhont
Dhont was born in Zaire in 1959. He studied at the University of Stellenbosch and then honed his sculpture skills by achieving a Diploma in sculpting at Michaelis School of Fine Art, UCT.
He creates his sculptural works from mostly natural media, including wood, bones, black wattle bark and stone. He lives and works in the Jonkershoek Valley near Stellenbosch. His works preside in both the Iziko, South African National Gallery in Cape Town as well as in the Sasol Musuem in Stellenbosch.
